A door with a round vent occupies the front end, which is bracketed by large metal spoke wheels. A group portrait of members of the Drum Corps for Oregon's Grand Army of the Republic veterans' organization around 1927. All of the men pictured here would have been veterans of the Civil War from the Union side. This photograph was taken in McMinnville, probably during a public event such as a parade or Fourth of July celebration. Most of the men hold snare drums of various sizes, with drumsticks; one stands behind a large bass drum. Their suits are dark, many decorated with ribbons and medals, and all but one wear dark, wide-brimmed hats. Several of the hats bear insignia. All of the men have mustaches and/or beards. The bass drum in the center front bears the legend 'Dept. of Oregon G.A.R., Veteran Drum Corps.' One man in the center back holds a United States flag aloft. A leafy tree branch hangs down over the group.
