Title
-
Atiyeh with a Native man in Regalia
-
Description
-
Governor Victor Atiyeh stands beside an Native American man dressed in regalia at an outdoor event. The man may be a chief of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs or of Umatilla. He is wearing a buffalo horn headdress, a beaded belt and necklaces, and a ribbon-trimmed shirt. A teepee, vendor booths, cars and pedestrians are in the background. The photograph might have been taken at a fair or tribal event during the 1980s. This is one of a set of photographs taken by Gerry Lewin, a photographer for the Salem Statesman Journal.
